I am a stay-at-home mom returning to the workforce after focusing on my family. While I was home with my children, I completed a Master's degree in English. Soon after graduation, I completed an editorial internship with Elephant Journal, where I was an assistant editor and contributing writer. Since then, I have been a part-time editor and writer for two online journals, Be You Media Group and the Tattooed Buddha. Ever the academic, I am currently enrolled in the Google Digital Marketing and E-commerce Professional Certificate program to further my skills with SEO and data analytics. I recently completed the first certificate focused on the Foundations of Digital Marketing and E-commerce.
In addition to writing and editing, I also have experience in logistics and program coordination, mostly running executive education programs. I also have further higher education experience as a registrar for a technical college. As the supervisor of the registrar's office, I gained valuable skills in records management, scheduling, and database organization. I have excellent time management, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills that I had to use daily in these roles. Much of my experience also entails program planning and client relations.
I began my yoga practice in 2003 and earned my 200-hour yoga teaching certification in 2005 through Martin and Jordan Kirk. With a foundation in the Anusara and Iyengar styles, I have an alignment-based teaching style that encourages participation and fun. Looking to add to my skill set, I completed an 800-hour yoga therapy certification through Scottsdale Community College in 2023. I also earned a meditation certification through the Awareness Training Institute with the Greater Good Science Center at the University of California, Berkeley taught by Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach.
