I earned my Master's degree in English in May 2011 from Northern Arizona University, graduating with distinction. Soon after graduation, I completed an editorial internship with Elephant Journal, where I was an assistant editor and contributing writer. Since then, I have been a part-time editor and writer for two online journals, Be You Media Group and the Tattooed Buddha. I continue to build my writing and researching skills by providing freelance ghostwriting and blog writing services to clients.
In addition to writing and editing, I also have experience in logistics and program coordination, mostly running executive education programs at a graduate school. I also have experience in higher education and secondary education, serving as a registrar for a technical college and a PVUSD middle school. As registrar, I've gained valuable skills in records management, scheduling, client relations, and database organization. My work experience has equipped me with excellent time management, critical thinking, and research skills, as well as strong teamwork and collaborative professionalism.
I began my yoga practice in 2003 and earned my 200-hour yoga teaching certification in 2005 through Martin and Jordan Kirk. With a foundation in the Anusara and Iyengar styles, I have an alignment-based teaching style that encourages participation and fun. Looking to add to my skill set, I completed an 800-hour yoga therapy certification through Scottsdale Community College in 2023. I also earned a meditation certification through the Awareness Training Institute with the Greater Good Science Center at the University of California, Berkeley taught by Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach.
